Apparently they’re called wallplates. This is better than my name for them which was “thing that you put on your way when you want to cover over your light switch thing.”

The determination to keep the stars (of which there are only 40) in the top left corner has had the effect of making this flag effect completely inaccurate and illogical. But, frankly, as I’m fairly sure America is the only country with electricity, or at least electricity that isn’t produced by enslaved children running in giant hamster wheels, a little inaccuracy is a fair price to pay so as to give proper tribute to Benjamin Franklin, turkey lover.
